I'm really not on a religious kick. That sad thing is, I understand why you say that. I mean, if you look at my past blogs I have started up new ones about my time with God and then they just fell by the wayside. Even more, it's now sadly commonplace to 'jump on the bandwagon' and then back off again once things are going great! But, I'm not on a religious kick - my life has genuinely transformed.
I have often heard and even sang a song that goes like this, "I have decided to follow Jesus - no turning back." For years, I thought that was true of my life. I would honestly think that I was following Jesus. I mean, I went to church every Sunday - well, except when I woke up late, or felt a little under the weather, or there was a drop of rain. It's kind of funny - it takes thousands of gallons of water to baptize Christians, yet it only takes one drop to keep us away from Church. I don't indict anyone, after all - I'm guilty of this too! I'm guilty of being a 'sometimes Christian.'
Not anymore, though. No, now I am not scared to allow Jesus into my daily life. There was a time when he was reserved for certain times when I was home in the evenings. In my room as I pet my dog. He could see that, He could be part of that. Now, though, he is more than welcome to become part of my daily life. I am not afraid to have Him walk with me. This is lasting change - this is what it feels like.
So, here I am. Once again, writing a blog. Once again, professing my love and trust in Christ. But, this time, I mean it more than anything. I mean it more than I ever have. It's that simple. A confession of love and hope. A confession of remorse. A confession of sin. Ultimately, a confession of life.
